Robbery at Mount Pleasant Superette

Dayne Elizabeth Nel - Between R10 000 and R15 000 was stolen from Mount Pleasant Superette on Monday.

“They came in and said they were going to shoot us,” said Ribon Shaik of Mount Pleasant Superette.

“They pointed the gun, took the money and then they were gone.”

According to Sergeant Mbogeni Mazuthu of the Hermanus SAPS no one was injured during the incident and no one has been arrested.

“It is alleged that these men came in to the shop pretending to be customers,” says Mazuthu.

“Two men were carrying firearms and one carrying a knife. They pointed the gun at the till operators and demanded cash.

“They fled the scene on foot in the direction of the Mount Pleasant swimming pool.

“Police are investigating a Business Robbery Case and anyone with information can contact Detective Constable Graig Philander on 028-313 7000.”
